Local Notion reminders for Custom Views

NotiZen Widget can now schedule local Android notifications from selected Notion date properties inside Custom Views.

  • Enable local notifications for a Custom View and choose a Notion date property such as Reminder or Due Date.
  • Schedule separate Android notifications for multiple visible items with future reminder times.
  • Editing a supported Notion date from the widget now reconciles local notifications more reliably.
  • Changed reminder times replace old local alarms instead of leaving stale schedules behind.
  • Existing reminder records can be safely reprogrammed when Android alarms need to be refreshed.
  • Local reminders are reprogrammed more safely after app updates, device reboot, time changes, and timezone changes.
  • Expired scheduled reminder records are cleaned up automatically.

Improved Notion reconnect and shared pages flow

We improved the Notion connection experience when reconnecting, adding another workspace, or updating shared pages. NotiZen now shows the page selection guide before opening Notion in more places, so it is clearer when to use "Select pages", "Select all", and "Allow access".

  • The Notion page selection guide now appears before reconnecting Notion.
  • The guide also appears before adding another workspace or updating shared pages.
  • The guide image can be enlarged and zoomed for easier setup.
  • The selected workspace connection is preserved more reliably when updating shared pages.
  • Fixed an issue where the guide could close unexpectedly on some devices before opening Notion.
  • This should make reconnecting Notion and managing shared pages clearer and more reliable.

Improved Notion setup guide

We improved the Notion connection flow to make page selection clearer during setup. Notion asks users to choose which pages an integration can access. This step can be confusing, especially when no pages are selected and databases do not appear in NotiZen.

  • Added clearer guidance before opening Notion.
  • Added a quick setup hint for using "Select all" in Notion.
  • Improved the explanation for users who prefer to select only one database or parent page.
  • Added an enlarged image preview with zoom support so users can clearly see where to tap.
  • Improved database picker copy and recovery messages when shared pages are missing.
  • This should make it easier to connect Notion, share the right pages, and create your first widget successfully.

AI planning export for Notion widgets

Export selected Custom Views and cached calendar events as a JSON file for ChatGPT, MCP tools, or other AI planning workflows.

  • Export one, several, or all Custom Views from a widget.
  • Include cached Google Calendar events from Upcoming Events when available.
  • Include Notion object IDs for MCP actions so compatible tools can identify exact pages and properties.
  • Control Notion URLs, hidden items, and calendar events before sharing the export.
  • Share the generated JSON through the Android Share Sheet as application/json.
  • Calendar events stay at widget/export level and are not mixed into Custom View data.
  • Useful for reviewing a daily or weekly agenda with ChatGPT or another AI assistant while keeping the export explicit and user-controlled.

Better Notion workspace management

This update improves how NotiZen handles multiple Notion workspaces, shared pages, custom view sources, and local workspace removal.

  • Notion workspaces now show their real workspace name when available.
  • The database picker is clearer when choosing a Notion source for a widget or a custom view.
  • Multiple unnamed workspaces are now easier to distinguish.
  • Added "Update shared pages" so users can reselect the Notion pages and databases a workspace can use.
  • Added "Remove from NotiZen" to remove a workspace locally from the app without deleting anything from Notion.
  • Improved handling for widgets and custom views when their Notion connection is missing.
  • Improved the OAuth metadata flow so workspace names are passed correctly from Notion to NotiZen.
  • Removing a workspace from NotiZen only removes the local connection from this app/device. It does not delete Notion pages, databases, or workspaces, and it does not revoke access inside Notion.
  • If you use more than one Notion workspace, choosing the right database for a widget or custom view is now clearer, safer, and easier to manage.

Smoother manual ordering for Custom Views

You can now reorder Custom Views inside a widget more smoothly. Drag a view card to place your most important views first, such as Today, Overdue, Work or Personal. The interaction now feels cleaner, starts faster and keeps the dragged card visually consistent in both light and dark mode.

  • Reorder Custom Views manually with a smoother drag-and-drop interaction.
  • Drag from anywhere on the view card, while the handle remains as a visual cue.
  • Improved visual polish while dragging, including cleaner elevation and rounded shadows.
  • Your manual order is saved when you release the card.

Widget appearance settings are now clearer

The widget settings screen now makes it easier to understand the difference between the global default appearance and each widget's own appearance override.

  • Moved Widget appearance to a clearer section near the top of widget settings.
  • Added helper text for global default vs per-widget override.
  • Added a warning when a widget overrides the global default.
New feature

Duplicate Custom Views

You can now duplicate a Custom View and quickly create variations without rebuilding filters, sorting, visible properties, layout and Upcoming Events settings from scratch.

  • Copy an existing Custom View configuration.
  • Open the duplicated view ready to edit.
  • Useful for creating similar views with small changes.
Visual improvement

Default Notion page icon

Notion pages without an assigned icon now show a clean default page icon locally in the widget.

  • Keeps widget lists visually cleaner.
  • Does not modify the real Notion page data.
  • Applies only as a local visual fallback.
